How To Set Up A Computer essays When you set up a computer, all you have to do is set it in the desired location, and hook up the connections. There are pieces that you must have when setting up a computer. Those pieces are; a keyboard, a mouse, a monitor, a tower, and two power cables (one for the monitor, and one for the tower). If you have just bought a new computer, it may come with more than those things. I am not going to get into those, I am just explaining how to set up a basic computer. You may want to use a surge protector to protect your computer from the damage of a power outage. If you follow these steps correctly, you should have a working computer ready for you to use. You should to start by finding your desired location for the computer. Some people use a desk, a table, or sometimes the floor. For this set of instructions, I am going to be using a table. Begin by placing the monitor on the table. You want to set it a little further away from you than the center, but not much. Now, take the tower and set it on the left or right side of table, on the floor, or if you want, right next to the monitor. The next thing that you want to do, is to set the keyboard out in front of the monitor. Placing it so that if you try to type on it, you will be comfortable. Right next to it, on the left or right side, depending on if you are right or left handed, place the mouse. I am right handed, so I will put it on the right side. If you have a mouse pad, you can place it under the mouse. If you do not, it will work fine without one. Make sure that you have everything sitting in a good position so that you are comfortable, and you can have optimal perf ormance on the computer. Now that you have everything positioned how you want it, the next thing you need to do is hook it up. Walk around to the back of the tower and plug in the power cable.
